R. Elisabeth Maclary Elementary School News
R. Elisabeth Maclary Elementary School wants parents and the community to have easy access to the most current school and activity news. We understand that in your busy world, you may not have the time to sift through a pile of mail for a newsletter, or wait for your child to bring a newsletter home.
Check the Calendar for upcoming events and important schedule changes.
As you should know, the Christina School District is engaged in developing the Christina Plan for Excellence, our Strategic Plan for 2010-2013. Since December 1st we have held a series of community meetings on each of the major topic areas: Excellence and Equity, the Learning Environment and most recently Innovation in Instruction.
We very much want and need your participation and it is not too late. You can still share your ideas and thoughts on any of these topics as well as see what other members of the Christina community have already identified as priorities by visiting our website at
www.christina.k12.de.us. And, while I must reiterate that we want to hear from you about every topic we especially hope you can join us for our last topic, Strengthening Relationships and Creating Partnerships. We are looking for ways to enhance the home, school and community bond and we know you have a special insight in this area.
Our next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, February 16th at 7pm at Bancroft Elementary School. The second session on this topic will be Tuesday, February 23rd at 7pm at Keene Elementary School. Our format has been that participants brainstorm ideas during the first session and during the second session we prioritize and identify possible strategies.
I hope that the parent leadership of your school will be represented at the meetings but please encourage all of your parents to visit the website and share their thoughts. Borrowing a phrase you may have heard before –
Your District needs YOU.
Sincerely,
Marcia V. Lyles
